About Us
Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue was started by one individual who learned that the love of a American Pit Bull Terrier far outweighs anything else. She learned that true love means to be loved by a bully. Their characteristics are what we should all strive for in life:

Loyal Loving Strong Forgiving Adaptable Fun Sense of Humor Determined

In talking with others who love the breed, CBBR was formed. While we have gone through some changes, CBBR is at its strongest and can only get better. With the continued dedication of volunteers, adopters, sponsors and donors, we plan on being a presence for the bullies for years to come.

Our Goals include:

  1. Working with local trainers to incorporate a special training program that involves training our rescue dogs for agility and therapy work.
  2. Developing our Humane Education Team to visit schools, churches, and other organizations to spread our message.
  3. Raising enough capital funds to build our own Bully Breed Shelter and Sanctuary. We are looking for property that would accommodate a 24 hour presence by volunteers.

Mission
Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue is a not-for-profit, all-volunteer animal rescue organization that specializes in the bull breeds especially pit bulls. We rescue abused, unwanted and stray dogs and find them responsible, safe homes where they can thrive both physically and mentally. We believe that the public needs to be educated about the breed’s characteristics to understand the breeds that we love. Through humane education programs and activities, we hope to make the public better understand the bull breeds that so often discriminated against.

These activities include:

  1. Fun shows that include activities that can be done with your dog (i.e. weight pull, conformation, obedience, protection, and agility).
  2. Educational seminars for families especially those at risk of illegal activities which frequently include dog fighting (Bully Breed Days).
  3. Community education programs to enlighten the residents of what is happening in their community.
