What is the adoption process like?
When you contact CBBR an associate will help you figure out which dog will do best in your situation. In order to make an informed suggestion we will require you to fill out the adoption application first. After the associate has made recommendations and your application evaluated we will schedule a visit with the potential dog. When you decide you want to adopt, a representative will then complete a homecheck. Once everything is done your new dog will be brought to your house and you will be required to sign an adoption agreement to complete the adoption process.
What are the adoption fees?
Our adoption fees for are as follows:
What does the adoption fee include?
Spay/Neuter, Pre-Adoption Vaccinations/Exams, Rabies Vaccination for dogs old enough, De-Worming, Food & Board while at CBBR, Microchip, and Heartworm Test = Total Value $650.
What breeds will I find on your site?
Although we have a variety of bully breeds, you will almost always find a large selection of these breeds and breed mixes: pit mixes, pit bull terriers, and staffordshire terriers. Occasionally we will have American Bulldogs, Staffy Bulls, and Agentine Dogos.
I work full time, does that mean I can't have an animal?
If you are not home 8 to 9 hours a day there are still many animals who will do fine in your family. We do not recommend getting puppies under 6 months of age if they will be alone for more than 3 to 4 hours at a time. Instead consider a dog older than 6 months, or a cat of any age. As long as you are able to provide 3 to 4 walks a day for a dog, and spend plenty of quality time with your pet when you are home, as well as care for its emotional, nutritional and medical needs you will make a fine "parent."
I'm not in IL, IN, or WI. What do I do?
We do adopt out nationally but please remember you will be required to pay for all transportation costs and there will be special provisions to your adoption. Also we will require that you do come and meet the dog before taking it home as well. If you cannot do this we will refer you to a local pit bull rescue to better suit your needs.
